Changes ⚙️
- Gold cards won from Conquest now take 24 hours to mint
With this change we hope to hammer the few remaining bots and significantly hinder their attempts to extract value from our economy. While we have seen a drastic decrease in bot accounts lately due to our efforts behind the scenes—a few still linger. By delaying the minting of Gold cards by 24 hours once a player completes a Conquest, we'll be able to increase the material cost for these fake players.
This delay will give us more time to review and detect bots and win-traders before they get their hand on precious Gold cards. We understand this is a big change, but it's an important one to ensure the integrity of our economy. Note that Silver cards will still be minted instantly, only the Gold cards are delayed.
Bugfixes 🐛
- Fixed a bug where the Discovery leaderboard could show your Constructed rank at the bottom.
- Fixed a minor UI bug in the cart.
- Fixed a bug where selecting your deck name with your mouse could close the rename deck window.
Welcome to patch 92 Everyone! We have some buffs focusing on improving some useful but underperforming midrange cards, as well as some nerfs to some over-tuned defensive tools, and of course, the release of Mini-Set #3 - Elemental Eruption! We opted not to make major changes to Discovery spawnrates this week, as the current meta appears to be fairly stable, so we'll let it develop for now.

A sizable buff to Geod here, making his spell-nerfing effect one-sided, no longer increasing the costs of your own spells. Geod was one of the lowest win rate Strength cards overall, and provides a unique and valuable counterplay option to spell-focused decks, so we’ve made him easier to utilize by removing the downside from his ability. There’s definitely room for double-edged effects in Skyweaver, but as a rule that tends to be more for Wisdom, or Agility themed specifically with respect to self-damage.

A role change for a card that was pretty stranded in terms of identity. Instead of copying the enemy’s mana, Epic Eagle now readies itself if you’re behind your opponent in terms of health, almost like an Inverse Libra, allowing it to serve as an immediate threat and contest board via an immediate attack and removal spell. It also helps reinforce the Agility’s subtheme of benefitting from reducing its own life total.

Miss Aya (2028)

Nerf to a powerful Wisdom tool, Aya fits the themes of Wisdom well, having a bulky statline and healing capabilities, but her Banner made her a bit too appealing as a tempo option, so we’ve dropped her banner as a nerf. As a general rule, Wisdom shouldn’t be able to rely on Banner as a means of gaining tempo to the same extent as prisms like Agility and Heart.

Avatar of Light is a jack of all trades, acting as removal, healing and a sticky body, so we’ve removed armor and added +1hp to make using its trinity link on itself less appealing and ensure it is easier to clean up.

Played correctly it can often be one sided, providing an effect akin to Frigid Blizzard for a much lower cost.

Gift of Yxxath (4103)

Gift is getting a buff, reducing its cost by 1. Gift is a flexible tool that opens up a lot of unique strategies and deckbuilding options, but at 4c it was too slow to be viable. At 3c it should be significantly more competitive.
An exciting tool for elemental decks, with added flexibility through its Earth body coupled with its Metal spell, Jungle Guide allows for some huge payoffs for investing in a certain element, and even when buffing just one or two units per Inspire, can still get considerable value.
Nurtured Bond offers a big elemental payoff with resiliency by buffing a unit on the field, and drawing + buffing a unit in the hand. With a hand of cards of the appropriate element, Bond can represent as much as +18/+18 worth of stats across two units, and in testing, offered a potent mid to late game threat for elemental decks.
Perhaps one of the Mini-Expansion’s most powerful build-arounds, Raze can provide an elemental deck with a huge amount of damage over time via mass Banner. In internal testing, the card was a bit tricky to get running early game, but provided some amazing benefits when you could. Really helps reinforce Agility’s Hero attacking identity as well.
Fitting into Wisdom’s rainbow identity and theme of outlasting foes, Wish encourages players to invest in proactively Conjuring cards, rather than waiting to out of deck them later, providing discounted spells and Buffed creatures as a reward for planning ahead.
Strige Swarm offers a theoretically insane effect that is (thankfully) limited by your field size. It can quickly take over your field like a virus, offering a sweet tool to remove pesky units, direct damage and healing while offering some openings for combos as well.
Food Chain offers players a proactive way of activating death effects while also letting players draw more units and scaling up their stats. It provides some interesting plays when sacrificing units that have been withered down or that have polarized stat lines.
An elemental removal tool for Intellect, Frostmaiden adds an icy touch to every water card you cast, letting it sweep away enemy units. Its Frost Claw also makes for an interesting combo, as it's possible to cast Claw on your own unit, and then pay for the Frostbite on your unit to get two triggers off her. Frostmaiden should feel right at home with Intellect’s array of powerful water cards.
While it can seem underwhelming at first glance, if Eliminate is employed in a deck comprised of largely one element of unit, it can serve as a largely one sided AOE, in a similar manner to cards like Kha’s Wrath, so it’ll be interesting to see if that application can be exploited to its fullest.
One of the Design team’s favorite cards from the expansion, Swarmsinger offers a ton of value and removal to Agility decks willing to invest in the Air element, which Agility already has a lot of natural affinity for. Getting 4-5 ‘free’ removals in the form of Fate-equipped Yellowjacks is considerably valuable, and it is quite possible to gain 6-7 in the lategame, especially with a secondary prism that provides a lot of draw, like Wisdom.
Our final card is a throwback to a particularly memorable card from the game’s past, adapted for the current day. Genesis Avatar can recycle a card of each element back into its user's deck upon death, allowing Wisdom to reuse some of its most impactful cards in the long game, letting it compose more potent lategame strategies that can also reduce its reliance on OOD draws.
