Extra Lap - Patch #99.5
Welcome, weary Skyweavers, to the patch-before-the-hundredth patch! We need juuuuust a couple more weeks to wrap up all the goodies we’re giving you for patch 100, so we’re taking some laps around the track before we reach the finish line 🚴 In the meantime, we’ve prepared you some sweet quality-of-life features and bugfixes you’ll all appreciate!
Improvements 🦾
- Added the ability to mute an opponent for the duration of the game by right-clicking their hero.
- Complete overhaul of our assets downloading system. This should improve loading times, "failed to download assets" errors, and more.
- Private matches are now shown in the Match History on your profile, but only if you participated in the match. Other players won't see your private matches.
Changes ⚙️
- Games will now end in a draw after 30 turns by each player. You'll now see a warning message appear a few turns before this limit is reached.
UPCOMING CHANGE TO CONQUEST TICKETS
When patch 100 is released, any new Conquest Tickets purchased from Horizon will no longer be tradable. Players that still have tradable Conquest Tickets will be able to convert them post-patch at no cost. However, the window to convert them will only last until the end of the year (Dec 31st 2022).
Tickets are great for gifting to streamers, friends, and enabling creative guild management systems. However, we realize this can all be done with Silver cards. So, when we tasked ourselves with solving a separate UX challenge for Tickets—that challenge being; entering Conquest requires a blockchain transaction and could take upwards of 2-3 mins—we considered the implications of treating them like regular ol' game items.
This was something several hardcore Conquest players would bring to our attention after entering Open Beta. So with this upcoming change, Tickets would be stored on the server—tied to the players' account—and will enable players to "queue up" Conquest entries, so there's no delay between games!
Bugfixes 🐛
- Fixed replays not loading or not playing correctly.
- Fixed clicking the island displaying the wrong kind of dust in incorrect locations.
- Fixed multiple game crashes that caused purple and red error popups.
- Fixed a game crash that caused a purple error popup in the loading screen.
- Improved performance of loading your profile page.
Welcome to patch 99.5 everyone! We have a few changes to overperforming cards in the current metagame, along with some buffs to help the currently weak Heart Prism, as well as some Discovery odds changes to tune down the Intellect Prism. These adjustments should help create a more fun and varied metagame for all our fantastic players!

Heart has really been struggling lately, so we decided to buff a pair of popular flagship cards in the Prism that have high play rates but low win rates, in an effort to bolster the Heart Prism as a whole. Phoenix Plume is an interesting card that has a low win rate but sizable playrate, so it is getting a -1 cost buff. This should help provide an additional tool for graveyard-centric decks hoping to generate value from powerful Death effect units.

A minor nerf designed to curb the Bloodletter-focused combo decks that have been frustrating players. Bloodletter now only triggers on damage, not loss of health, so it can’t be abused by conjuring cards and taking damage via out of deck conjures.

A minor adjustment for consistency with Buster, Pokey will now heal and draw cards 'As' it attacks, before completing its attack and dealing damage. This does create a slight difference from how it worked before, in that it is hard to defeat the enemy hero with Pokey, as it will heal before damaging them.

A nerf to the combo potential of Micro-Swarm while still letting it work well as an aggressive tool. Micro-Swarm now costs 3 mana unless your board is empty. Swarm alone was strong, but when combined with other cards it could be fairly oppressive. This change should tame its combo potential while still letting it serve as an early aggressive threat and removal tool, and also serves as a nerf to Micro-Manager by extension.
